This fly reel also features gearing, anti-reverse, and an indirectly finely adjustable and easily accessible brake. It is easily accessible because the brake lever, which extends beyond the housing, allows the brake to be operated from the crank side.

Indirect, because the brake is not located on the spool, but in the gear pinion. The housing and the spool are made of high-strength aluminum alloys, as with all other types, and the gear is made of low-wear copper/zinc alloys.

The spool unwinds onto the crank via a bearing, which enables smooth operation and contributes to low heat generation during long runs.
